Super Handball League Launch
The BENE-League Handball becomes the Super Handball League: Breaking Boundaries Together
The top men’s handball competition in Belgium and the Netherlands is taking a significant step forward to elevate handball in both countries. The NHV (Dutch Handball Federation) and the KBHB (Royal Belgian Handball Federation) are proud to announce the rebranding of the BENE-League Handball to the “Super Handball League” (SHL). There is a strong belief in the power of handball, as it is full of spectacular moments, strength, and dynamism. This transformation reflects the vision and commitment to promoting a dynamic, inclusive, and boundary-pushing competition. The league aims to become the flagship of handball in Belgium and the Netherlands.
We are extremely pleased with the progress the clubs are making, not only in terms of sport but also on organizational, commercial, and societal levels. While there is still much work to be done, clear steps are being taken forward.
Mission: Breaking Boundaries
The new pay-off, “Breaking Boundaries,” encapsulates the essence of the mission: breaking barriers both in sports and socially. The goal is to break not only the boundaries between countries and clubs but also those of traditional handball perceptions and expectations. The league targets all handball players in the Netherlands and Belgium, with a special focus on the new generation. There is a strong belief that the sport and the league have much to offer this audience.
A New Visual Identity
To support the renewed identity, a modern and fresh logo and color scheme are being introduced, reflecting the energy and passion of handball. Bright colors are used to ensure visibility among various target groups, both offline and online. The logo, featuring stylized elements inspired by the power and speed of the game, will be consistently used in all visual communications.
The Road Ahead
The two federations will work together to establish the league firmly within the handball community in both countries, with the aim of creating a strong, professional top league that serves as a showcase for the sport in Belgium and the Netherlands.
